Back in April, I put this sign in our yard, to show people that we were so proud of our son, PV2 John Kreycik, as he persevered through Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training to become a Combat Engineer, and then Airborne School. It reminded me to pray for him daily and still does as he serves with the 173rd Airborne in Italy.
Tonight I will take the sign down and put it in my shop so it does not get destroyed by the weather. It will still show my pride in our son, who has kept fighting the good fight and running his race. Hopefully he has many more adventures ahead of him, persevering in the path our good Father has laid out for him. When I see this sign, I will pray for him, and I hope many of you remember to pray for John daily too. Thanks to those of you who have prayed him through all these months of challenges and achievements!
As I said, tonight I will take the sign down and store it away. I have left it up through election day for a reason. When John enlisted in the U.S. Army, he promised to uphold the Constitution of the United States and to obey his Commander in Chief. He and many, many other young men and women have pledged their lives to defend our country, our way of life, the freedoms we take for granted. Today, as you vote, don’t take those freedoms for granted! Please remember this sign, think of other young men and women you know who are serving our country, and give them a country that is worth serving! Freedoms that are worth defending! Pray that America will come through this challenging time, honor God, and once again be a Light to the nations. Remember our military men and women who have dedicated their lives to something higher than themselves. Don’t just vote for candidates and measures. Vote for our troops as well!
May God have mercy on us all!
